Market Wrap-Up – First Quarter 2026

This edition of my market recap covers the first quarter of 2026.  For a review of November and December 2024 see HERE; for October 2024 see HERE; for Q1 2025 see HERE; Q2 2025 see HERE; for Q3 2025 see HERE; and for Q4 2025 see HERE.

Five small cap ($30,000,000 and under) IPOs priced in the fourth quarter of 2025 (2 in January, 2 in February and 1 in March) – a significant downtick from the 23 deals that priced in Q4 2025 which itself was a downtick from Q3 2025.  In fact, this is the lowest number of small cap deals I can remember for a full quarter.   On the other hand, direct listings continue to grow with 7 commencing trading in Q4 2025.  Below is a chart of relevant deal information for the first quarter IPOs.

I also note that there were no foreign IPO’s onto Nasdaq in Q1 which is likely a direct result of Nasdaq’s new discretionary authority rule to block listings over manipulation concerns with foreign entities.  For more information see HERE.
